Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos says he is not bothered about winning the Ballon d’Or, that he prefers winning trophies with Real Madrid. He says he would have been a tennis player if he wanted individual awards, we believe this is no shades at the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
“The Ballon d’Or? We will see what happens. It is true that Cannavaro also won it. We should not forget that,” Ramos said.
“But the most important thing for me is to win another Champions League with Real Madrid and celebrate that.
“Trophies won with the team are the most important ones for me.
“I would have played tennis if I wanted individual trophies.”
The Spanish defender could potentially become a contender and the first defender to win since Fabio Cannavaro in 2006 if he helps Madrid defeat Juve in the UCL final on Saturday.
