Tommy served football in a number of roles throughout the years and was chairman of the Dublin & District Schoolboys League (DDSL) from 2004 to 2012 and latterly served as Wicklow League Treasurer and Fixtures Secretary.

A native of Sallynoggin, Tommy was involved with St Joseph’s Boys FC in recent times. He also managed Pearse Rovers in the 1970s when one of his players was former international Paul McGrath.

As a manager he led the DDSL to Kennedy Cup success in 1985. He later represented the DDSL on the SFAI executive committee and Leinster Football Association.

“It is with great sadness that I learned of Tommy’s passing last night,” said FAI Chief Executive Officer John Delaney.

“Tommy was a real football man who was involved in the game across so many levels and truly dedicated his life to the game. Our thoughts are with his family at this time and we will honour his contribution to football at the Uruguay international in June.”

Tommy is sadly missed by wife Margaret, children  Sharon, Carol, Clare and Stephen,  grandchildren Eva, Lea and Sean, sisters Elaine, Brid and May, extended family and friends.
