Mario Balotelli has jokingly said he will have to kill Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to stand a chance of winning the Balon d’Or. Just that with Balotelli, you can’t be sure of what is a joke. He says he has not done enough to win the award during his career but looking at many players ahead of him, he may have to kill many more to stand a chance, or except there is a Balon d’Or for petulance.
‘I’ll have to kill those two to win it,’ he said. ‘What I’ve done since the start of my career has not been enough, I will have to do more.’
He scored 15 goals in 23 games for Nice this season but is yet to extend his contract which expires in the summer.
