Newcastle's Tim Krul joins AZ Alkmaar on loan in search of first-team football

Dutch international Tim Krul has moved to AZ Alkmaar on loan in a bid to regain form and fitness. Newcastle United keeper Tim Krul has joined AZ Alkmaar on loan after cutting short his deal with fellow Eredivisie side Ajax. The 28-year-old made a temporary switch to Ajax at the start of the campaign in a bid to regain form and fitness after missing most of 2015-16 through injury. Krul, however, was unable to dislodge Andre Onana from the No. 1 spot at the Amsterdam ArenA and decided to leave the club in pursuit of first-team action.
