Juventus centre-back Giorgio Chiellini believes the club will not miss Leaonardo Bonucci, who left the club for AC Milan in what was a surprising transfer. Chiellini believes despite the departure of one of the B in the BBC, Mehdi Benatia can be a good replacement and go on to form another BBC with the other guys. He however says the club might need to make some signings to add cover.
‘Bonucci’s departure? I didn’t expect it and, above all, I didn’t expect the destination,’ Chiellini told Gazzetta dello Sport.
‘That being said, if we’re all okay in defence, we’ll have no problems.
‘Still, we may need another centre-back because Barzagli, Benatia and I will need to rest every now and then.
‘That’s why I think we could do with an extra hand,’ he added.
Bonucci made his first appearance for his new club in a recent clash with Bayern Munich, the Rossoneris won 4-0.
