As Dele Alli joins the very long list of players Arsene Wenger could have signed at Arsenal, Arsene Wenger says he had his eyes on Dele while he was at MK Dons. We won’t stop hearing stories of how Wenger could have signed every Messi, Ronaldo and Zlatan that is doing well at their present clubs but ends up signing every Silvestre, Sanogo and Jenkinson.
‘I think we looked at him at Milton Keynes, because it’s just down the road.
‘You have to say he has done extremely well, he has developed into a very complete player.
‘It’s absolutely marvellous at his age. They have done well to buy him and give him a chance, they deserve credit for that.
‘We watched him a few times, many many times, because we watched a lot of Milton Keynes.’
Dele Alli has been in good form for Tottenham this season, helping the North London club remain in the title race, four points behind Chelsea with five matches to play.
