Former Barcelona defender – Frank de Boer says Tottenham midfielder, Christian Erikssen could play for Barcelona. He says Eriksen has all the qualities needed to play for Barcelona and is ready to take the next step in his career. It seems former Barcelona players have taken up the job of scouting Tottenham’s players for other clubs in Europe. Tottenham’s coach – Mauricio Pochettino had earlier been incensed by comments made by Xavi about Dele Alli potentially joining Manchester City, calling him his enemy. It seems de Boer is also Pochettino’s enemy.
“I think he’s really been making a name for himself, at Ajax at first, and then at Tottenham at the highest level.
“I also think he’s ready for a next level. He has everything a Barcelona player needs. He has overview, work ethic, left and right, he’s pretty complete.
“He’s just not really a ball winner, but other people have to do that. He runs the highest distances, which isn’t really the most important thing. But if you run for a lot of metres and you do that in the highest tempo, then it will deliver a result.”
Eriksen, 25 has scored 11 goals this season and he reached 20 assists for the season with two pinpoint crosses in Spurs’ FA Cup semifinal defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.
