Stoke vs Everton

Stoke City managed to make small surprise in previous Premier League match as the team took a point in a 1:1 home game against Manchester United ten days ago. This draw broke a mini-run of two consecutive victories in Premiership for Stoke as the team previously won at home against Watford and won over Sunderland on the road, but a point against United is surely considered as a positive result.

Things to be better, players of Stoke City were actually quite close to reach the victory, since they had the lead since 19th minute of hte match with an own goal from Mata, while the visitors managed to level up the result only in fourth minute of additional time in the game via Rooney. Even though they had the lead for the most of the match, it needs to be said that the guests had more of the ball possession and were way more dominant, actually deserving more out of this match. Stoke remained at ninth position, having twelve points more than relegating worries sides, which surely makes the team much more relaxed.

Home team will be playing in 4-1-3-1 formation with Crouch as central striker, plus Arnautovic, Allen and Shaqiri as offensive midfielders. Central defender and sometimes defensive midfielder Geoff Cameron (7/0) is injured, same as offensive midfielder and forward Jonathan Walters (16/2). Injured are also long term absentees Stephen Ireland and Jack Butland, both without performing so far in the season. Midfielder Ramadan Sobhi (7/0) is at African Cup of Nations, while unfit remain offensive Mame Biram Diouf (15/0) and newly signed forward Saido Berahino.

Everton, on the other side, continued with their good form in Premier League, as the team remained without a defeat in last five matches, celebrating four victories and having a draw in previous five. They come from a narrow victory away from home against Crystal Palace with a 1:0 result taken ten days ago.

Players of Everton had more of the ball possession and actually had much more of chances created in that game, deserving their victory obviously but then only managed to score a goal in 87th minute via Coleman, leaving no time for the home team to respond further on. As said, the tea is now in a great form and looking really stable as they currently stand at seventh position at the moment, having five less than sixth placed Manchester United and need points here if the team is to chase the European exit.

Visitors are set to play in 3-5-2 formation using Lukaku and Mirallas as forwards. Defensive midfielder Muhamed Besic and defender Matthew Pennington continue to be long term absentees without perfoming so far. Central midfielder Idrissa Gueye (19/0) is not fit enough to play for ninety minutes, while injured also remain offensive players Yannick Bolasie (13/1) and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (4/0).

  • Stoke are undefeated in their last 5 home matches (Premier League).

Neither of the teams played during the weekend and I expect both of them to be well rested ahead of this clash. Everton are undefeated in last five matches in the league and have every chance to walk away with something here, however my first betting choice for this one will be over goals here. They both have way better offensive players than their defensive lineup show reliability so far.
